well my uncle came back today and saw my car...he asked to test drive it and i did...only has 550 miles on it..i hear everybody say dat u shouldnt rip ur car until 3000 miles...well my uncle went 90 down a 35 goin all da way up to 7k...should i worry bout any problems? cept for my gas...thanks for replyin
Is your uncle in HS or something?
Kind of disrespect on top of endangering other people going 90 in a 35 zone. I wouldn't worry so much, was only at 7k rpm if it's an SI.

Where did you learn your English? May I suggest taking some lessons and using real words...last time I looked "dat", "da" and "ur" aren't words.

Thank you for contributing your wealth of honda technical grammar education.
I hope good grammar helps him know whether or not he should worry about his car getting ripped on @ 500mi.

I hate when people say that, I mean yeah you need to TEST drive a car before you buy it, but don't abuse what WILL eventually be someone else's car.
As for the OP, i stopped being easy on my car at 750miles... i wanted to wait for 1k but just couldnt.

You can pretty much guarantee that your car has been beat on already -- by someone test driving it or an employee of the dealership... either way the car will be fine and its nothing to worry about. I beat on my bitch from day one ... now w/ 10k miles and runnin like a champ

cool..., i watched my car get unloaded off the carrier and went with the tech on the pdi test drive so i can pretty much guarantee that my car wasn't beat on either ... unless someone who loaded it on/off the truck(s) took it for a spin. either way its safe to say that MOST cars get beat on during test drives and by dealership employees...

So you're gonna rip someone else's brand new car? You're just as much of a dipshit.

look! I drive cars off the ships we are the 1st people to drive on US soil. even if you watch yours come off a truck it has allready been driven 5 miles and by 4 or 5 people. The shiping companies and port logistics need to get the job done ASAP so the ships can move to another port. thay really dont care if you drive fast just dont burn the tires or the clutch. but we still have some numb nuts that cant drive a clutch, you would not want to see what I have seen. I know this happens and so does the car makers so Im not to worried about it. out of all the cars I have driven the honda's are the best IMO. I drive them all porche, jag, mercedes, subaru, honda, mitsu's you name it we drive it. afterall ships are how cars are imported. im just letting you all know what happens in transit to the dealler ships.
Dude I hit over 8000 RPM when I downshifted on the freeway from 6th to 3rd doing 80MPH and thank god that my civic is still on the road because I saw the needle hit 9000 all the way. I think I was lucky but yours only hit 7000 not that bad at all. Needless to say I will not be down shifting that stupidly anymore I kicked myself in the *** for that. That was around 800 or so miles on it; still running strong!

LOL, I started hitting redline since day 1 when I left the dealership with 1mile on it.
I wouldn't worry much about it, the engine was tested and broken in already way before you purchase the vehicle. I wouldnt brake too hard or go offroad, let your brakes and suspension adapt slowly to the road conditions.

I found out everything there was to know about my SI before I got it.
The engine was manufactured in Anna, Ohio. It was assembled at the East Liberty plant, in Ohio. From there it was tested and tuned, then shipped by truck to Raleigh NC to Hendrick Honda. From there I placed the order for a Taffeta White SI, at the Hendrick Honda in Charlotte, and they transfered it from the Raleigh store via truck. I watched it arrive Monday morning at around 1:20, everything practically wrapped in plastic. Even the wheels had cardboard coverings. It was driven by our 5-time Honda salesman, Dorian (awesome dude) for maybe .1 miles to the technicians department to have it checked out. From there it was driven maybe another .1 miles to clean-up. Then .1 more miles back to me where I was handed the keys and drove it off the lot, all with a total of probably .3 miles driven at 5 mph by 1 person. lol
Maybe he hit vtec really fast
sorry I kind of went off but I am bored and decided to tell a story.
