I have some 17x7 rims that I need to get tires for to put on my 1997 accord. Will nitto neogen 225/45/R17 work? Will it rub the fender well at all when i turn?

no, 225/45/17 is too big in diameter.

you want either a 225/40/17 or a 215/45/17.

the 225 wide tire may rub depending on what the offset is of the rims and how much you are dropped if at all.

The offset of the rims are 40mm. My car isnt dropped at all. So 215/45/17's are what I should go for?

the 40mm offset is going to put you closer to the fender, so the wider the tire the closer you get to the fender. Now is it going to be close enough to touch, I don't know for sure. Probably not since you not dropped but why chance it.

If it was me, I would just go with the 215/45/17. that tire is only about .4" larger in diameter than your stock tire so it's fine and 215 tire is wide enough for a 7" rim.

i think the size is 12x1.5??? but locks really don't matter......if a thief wants your **** he'll get it.......although nowadays it seems that less and less people are getting their ride put up on blocks instead, the entire car is taken and stripped down to the bare chassis.

yup...i dont know anyone that still gets jacked for only their wheels. plus, hondas are so easily stolen, its easier and fatser to just take the whole damn car. you can get some locks if you want for peace of mind, but you should really invest in layers of security. o and BTW there are special sockets out there designed to grip and remove most kinds of lock nuts. so thieves can get to your wheels anyway. i found this out when my friend bought a used car and it had locks on it but the previous owner didnt tell him or gave him a tool, so we went to the auto parts store and the guy sold us a universal lock nut socket that pretty much grips any kind of lock nut, but it destroys the nut afterwards

yes, very true, if they want it bad enough they'll get it. But with that way of thinking, (wheel) "locks really don't matter".... why should we even lock our cars, why install alarms, why install kill switches, why use "the club", etc.? Because, it's all about slowing them down enough to hope they'll feel it's not worth the trouble. The more you do to slow them down the better your chances.

I'm not trying to sound rude, but I REALLY hate thieves. So anything that slows them down gets in my book.

What kind of '97 Accord do you have? (Coupe vs sedan, 4-cyl vs V6, EX/LX/etc)
