I've got some pics of s friend's car, don't know the specs on it though. It's a custom setup, put together by a local shop:

wouldnt the intercooler not work as well because as soon as the air travels through the supercharger it will be hot again?

Yes.
I, ve seen Army recovery vehicles w/ two turbos and two superchargers on a desiel motor but it had a elaborate induction system and would use the superchargers from idle to about 1500rpm then the gates would switch after the turbos had built boost and run the turbos from 1500 to 2800 rpm. Hard to see the piping but youd think the jrsc is nothing more than a restriction in that set up. Unless there is more to the induction system.

The intercooler is only for the turbo. The SC is only for low RPM torque and spooling the turbo. Once the turbo builds boost, the SC is bypassed. Here's how the system works, although this setup has an air-air FMIC:

is this for a drag only or street car?>

More pics of that setup and the fab work can be seen here:

The intercooler is a PWR 10" Water-Air Intercooler. The tank in the engine bay is a water holding tank, and there is a separate heat exchanger for it in the front end of the car

If you really want to isolate it, IE insulate it, mcmaster.com has some 1800F ceramic insulation thats actually rather cheap. Its white and slightly gritty, but 1" (2 layers) of it makes the 900F+ turbine feel ~100F. If you want it to stay and look more baller, you can top it off with a aluminum-backed fiberglass mat, make it look shiney.

My guess is that CRX has the piping routed in front of that rad & around it to the IC.

Why Water-to-Air over Air-to-Air?
