Default Re: 97 kickdown adjustment? (the jdmchop)

the cable that goes from the throttle to the pressure lever on the front of the trans.
Back it off to slack position, start to open the throttle by hand with the engine at idle; just as the RPM starts to rise the pressure lever should barely start to move.

Driving test, roll along a level road at light throttle 25 MPH, floor the gas, the trans should downshift to first gear.
Repeat the same drive at 28 MPH, floor the gas and the trans should only downshift to second gear.
This adjustment also effects TC lockup at hwy speeds.
