Default intake hose?

i put my short ram cold air intake in a few months ago, on my 95 Accord EX. anyways, the hose that hooks into the stock intake tube has no place to go, cuz theres not spot on the intake itself. I've seen a few pics of guys that just plug where the hose starts. I wanna get this fixed, cuz my "check engine" light comes on when i run at 2700 RPMs, which then turns off my Vtec.

if anyone knows what i'm talking about, tell me, and how to fix it.

thanks

Default Re: intake hose? (95-Accord-EX)

Not to nitpick, but you have either a short-ram or cold-air intake, you can't have both. As far as the hose, are you talking about the one that connects from the valve cover to the intake tube? If that's the one you mean, it can be left off and won't cause a CEL and won't effect Vtec. If you want to connect the hose to the intake you will need to weld a bung onto the intake tube or buy an intake that has it. Here is a pic of the hoses after they have been rerouted:
