Poor customer service from Heritage Honda in Baltimore, MD
This is a letter I just wrote in regards to the TERRIBLE customer service I received from Heritage Honda dealership in Baltimore, MD. You all should read.
I recently received horrible customer service from a Mile One dealership. I recently purchased a used 2001 Acura Integra Type R from Heritage Honda. Because of the absolutely HORRIBLE customer service and treatment I received from William Winkler, the used car manager, I decided to return the vehicle. After having the car inspected at a body shop I was made aware of MAJOR body work and paint work that was done to the car. I was also made aware of the terrible quality of this work. I promptly returned the car, expecting to be greated with the superb customer service that Mile One, and Honda is known for. I hardly received any of that. I was insulted, called a liar, my friend insulted, and told to "Get the f*ck out of here" by Mr. Winkler. I felt so threatened by his insults and poor customer service, I felt as though a physical altercation was about to occur. To top it off, the car which I traded in was returned to me in hardly the condition that I left it in. My stereo, which was removed from the trade in car to be placed into the Acura will cost me $350 to be reinstalled into my vehicle. After having to argue for over an hour to be reimbursed for the cost to reinstall my stereo, I was told I would only receive half of that amount. "I had to take up some of the responsibility," I was told by Mr. Starr, the manager. In addition, the 'check engine' light is now illuminated in my car. I will be taking the car to a mechanic tomorrow to find out exactly what the problem is. There are also black paint marks on the right hand side of my car. Obviously, this was not the condition that I left the car in. I expect to be re-imbursed fully for any costs incurred by this entire incident, and will pursue legal action if necessary. Mile One would be doing themselves a favor to remove any employees who convey less then satisfactory customer service, especially an employee as irresponsible and unprofessional as Mr. William Winkler. Me, my friends, family, and co-workers will never purchase a car from Heritage Honda, Mile One, or Honda ever again. I thank you for your prompt attention in this matter.
Sincerely,
John J. Selway Jr.

Well, too bad for these guys, I also work for one of the biggest newspapers in the country. I'm connected with every major automotive advertiser in the country.. including the company that owns the dealership. I'm pretty sure I'll have this guys job.
First thing... contact your local Better Business Bureau (BBB). Most major dealerships are associated with BBB. And, believe it or not, BBB takes care of the customers and settle everything pretty nicely.
If that fails, got get a lawyer and get every single penny from those bastards.

yeah.. the BBB does a great job, i've filed a complaint with them before in regards to a different company and received the compensation i had asked for(nothing extravagent, just what was owed to me legally) within about 3 weeks. They were very thorough and kept me updated consistently on my case's progress. I highly recommend doing that..
I would hope that a poor used car dealer experience wouldn't swear you off of Hondas. I suggest checking for dealership reviews before the next time. Every make of car has some shady dealers out there.

Excellant letter. Unfortunately your experience happens on a daily basis. These dealers will constantly talk a good game to make a sale but once it's over then your treated like ****. The one thing I have learned is to get anything that you have agreed to in writing as far as any extra warranties, products promised etc... It will go a long way when you sue them in small claims court or hire an attorney.
Good luck.
Good luck.
