Default EFing brake conversion....

Ok, I opted to go with the DIY big brake oem Honda route. I have new cross drilled power stop rotors, for a '92-'96 Lude VTEC. I oreded Axis pads for the '91-'94 Accord wagon also. I pick up my '90-'91 EX spindles tomorrow. My question is will any Acura calipiers be equivalent to the Accord Wagon? I know the pads are the same for a ITR and the pads are supposed to fit: CL 97-98 3.0L, Integra 97-98/00 Type-R, Legend 91-95 (2DR), Legend 91-95 (4DR), NSX 91-96, RL 96-98, TL 95-98, Vigor 92-94, Accord 98-00 (2DR, 4DR, V6), CR-V 97-99 & Prelude 97-01 All. So with this in mind will the calipers off of these cars fit? I have no Accord wagons at the local salvage yard, and the Honda Dealer wants like $150 per side. I know there are Legends at the yard. If I seem to be rambling the swap I am undergoing can be seen here: http://tjshondas.20m.com/xlfronts.htm Any help is appreciated.

I see you are using the Z10 arms/crossmember. Does it have a mount up front for the front tranny motor mount? Also, is it considerably lighter than the factory pieces it replaces? And lst, how much room is there between the front edge of the block/oil pan interface, and the tubing (how much room is there for a header?)?

Thanks

I had a complete wagon brake setup a while back...As I recall, I don't think the Integra caliper bracket is big enough for the 11" rotor to clear the caliper itself. The wagon caliper is definately bigger than the integra unit. I sold the wagon setup in favor of the more realistic integra setup - my civic si has 90-93 brakes all the way around with a 7/8" mc and STOCK disc/drum prop. valve. NEver had a problem running that prop valve and the car has been 4 wheel disc since January of 1999.
As for braking performance, you can threshold brake all day long. I've been in a few situations when I nearly locked 'em up. I can't imagine how easy it would be to lock up 11" fronts.
Check out the pic from my site of the wagon calipers - supposed to be identical to ITR calipers - with that casting #, you may find that they are the same as the other stuff you mentioned above.

Oh, I see you know all about the pic....

First off the Z-10 kit has no front mount. It is way lighter than stock also. But to TJ yeah I know the pics. Your website made me get 90-93 teg rears before, and now this. I just thought of something else too, who can drill the rotors and leave them the right balance? Could a machine shop do it? Peace

I bought the Acura Vigor calipers whit the Prelude Vtec disk 11" (redriled 4X100) and removed 1/8 on the caliper braket to fit the disk.

The Accord wagon brake pad fit fine whit it. The only prob i have it's the knuckles (Civic Ex 90-91) dont fit whith the caliper braket???I need 1/4 of inches to clear the disk. Maybe the caliper have the same size and the braket is a bit smaller???

On the Vigor caliper the number is 17CL15VN the same one than the Accord wagon calip.

I think i don't have the right knuckles, i have ordered the Civic Ex 90-91 sedan with 4 disks brake??? I saw pictures of it and compare to mine the hub plate were the studds are is bigger (larger) than the one i have???? Problema!!!

It's supposed to fit... i have one wrong ingredient on my receipe but wich one???

If i have the wrong knuckle the Acura Vigor is an other option for brake upgrade "YES!!!"

Thanks
