Default temp guage

the other day i noticed that when i shift into gears my temp gauge goes all the way down and then back to its normal temp reading. the car isnt' over heating or anything becuase it goes back to its original temp which is less then half of the gauge. i was just wondering if something was drastically wrong or i need to change a fuse or something. i have no idea what to do this is the first time i have seen this.

its not a fuse. I would say its a loose connection. check the connection on the temp sensor under the distributer.
