i have this humming sound in the engine bay. i tried listening at the back of the car but i couldnt really hear anything. i checked my fuel pressure and it dropped 5 psi. i have a aem fpr. starting the car is a little bit longer than it used to before, it cranks couple times more before it fires up.

could it be my fuel pump going bad? v

 

Yup, constant humming is usually 98% the fuel pump. Change it out...

 

thought so. i guess ill buy a walbro 255 which ill be needing for a future turbo build anyway

 

I would replace the fuel filter first and see what that does. As far as I know, when the fuel pump is going bad it will make a whining noise that pulsates as it pumps. Also this noise will obviously generate from underneath the rear seat, not from the engine bay.

Dich that AEM FPR and buy my SARD FPR from me. Brand new, never used.

 

fuel filter is new also, less than 4k on it.

the aem is treating me well so far, ill keep it.

another thing i noticed earlier, when i pulled off the vac from the fpr, the humming came back, and when i put the vac back on, it stopped a bit.
