koni/nuespeed
got nuespeed race and koni yellows fitted to ek sedan.
i got perches re-grooved and its tukin tyre all round but sittin on bumps, question is...
do the ground control tophats in effect just shorten shock or increase travel??

I'm pretty sure you can NOT use GC top hats with stock-style springs (i.e. regular lowering springs). You would need to fab up some DIY extended top hats using your stock top hats. There's a thread on H-T somewhere showing how to do that (welding is required).
Really the only thing that extended top hats do is allow the bump stop to sit up higher on the shaft and allow a little more shock travel before bottoming out. It does not allow any more actual suspension travel, i.e. the upper control arms will still hit the shock towers if you're not careful.
