91 crx Si Clutch fit a z6/y8 tranny?

Default 91 crx Si Clutch fit a z6/y8 tranny?

as stated i have a 6 pluck clutch for my 91 crx Si a6 motor.
can i use it for on a z6 tranny? or even a y8?

im pretty sure you cant. the a6 tranny is a cable clutch and the others are hydro... everything ive ever heard is that you have to match the clutch to the tranny

shouldnt matter hydro/cable. that just explains how the clutch engages.

but i just got info from a guy that konws alot about trannies on here said it does.

you can... i checked a puck i had off a 96... it goes on the spline of the a6... you should be good.

thx for checking! another new info i know...i love honda interchangability.

saved myself couple hundred bucks now...

i can resuse my 6 pluck and 8 lb flywheel.

so for future ref
89-00 clutches are the same.

88 had less splines i think or one more

89 uses a 200mm clutch
90+ uses a 212mm clutch

Also the throw-out bearing has to match the trans, the ones for a cable trans are different than the ones for a hydro tranny....
