just wondering seeing if I can use my d series one instead of buying a b series one.

It doesn't fit properly -the bottom will, but not the top - but it will work temporarily, I have my crx alternator on my B18c - attached the bottom bracket and used the B18 belt and put a bolt into the alternator's top bracket and the tension of the belt is holding the alternator in place, just behind the lobe on the engine. I plan on replacing it soonish, but it works fine for now.
