i have a 94 civic si but when im driving straight my car makes like a grinding sound but when i turn my wheel slightly to the left the sound goes away.. anyone know why

 

just a shot in the dark guess.. your brake pad material is gone and it is grinding into the rotor. you need pads and rotors if this is the case. (well you can get away with turning the rotors but you're better off replacing them cuz it's easy as crap on a civic)

it should get louder the longer it goes without being fixed. if it doesn't then it's probly something else.

could it be more of a clicking noise mabye. that would be an axle.

 

i had this same problem in my olds alero and cavalier, i never did check and see what it was, the axles seemed fine, they werent clicking or anything, maybe wheel bearing? check and make sure your lug nuts are tight, and both those cars were autos so i dont know if that had anything to do with it
