Perfect Launching RPM
do you guys keep it at a steady RPM when you wanna launch hard. or do you keep idle then go? i found it pretty good around 2500 RPM's. no spinning tires the engine dosent seem to jolt or kick. what you guys doing? oh and i have Stock Pilot tires
around 4 grand.
spin just enough to get out quickly.
tires were a little better than stock. came off the HFP show car.
this was a little under 4 grand. rather quick start.... rolling kinda.

If you want launch quickly, launch with the VSA on, as soon as you finish launching hit the VSA off. I've had a good experience with doing that, but you can also get a good launch by revving to 3k-RPM and dump the clutch. good luck

i cant get a solid 3k rpm launch. it sucks! i tried 3500. 3000, 4000, nothing. just hardcore spinning the tires. i tried letting the clutch out slow that did'nt help either. maybe its the stock tires? and i think the VSA is on 2007 only i have a 2006 so that would'nt help at all. correct me if i am wrong
yeah still stock tires/rims/suspension. i just have a Injen CAI. I am looking for some nice Tires to wrap with Gold TE-37's but their real expensive. and cant find a good deal on em. but thats is my next mod. cause those tires are pretty beat the thread is going fast on em. I will get back to ya. Do you think Suspension would have a major impact on a launch?

what is this back pedaling that you speak of lol?
what is this back pedaling that you speak of lol?
Backpedaling is what you do when you launch a car and need to manage wheel spin. When you launch a car you really don't want to "dump" the clutch. The key to it is to have the right amount of clutch slip, throttle modulation and wheelspin. If you can learn to really get a feeling for the car, any car for that matter, you will know what I'm talking about. When you lauch at 4 try to let your clutch out alittle slower, once the wheels break loose back of the throttle to 60-75%. As soon as you feel the car hook, plant the gas and get ready to shift. The best advice was given to you earlier in this thread, practice.

Not only that but it is good practice to actually feather the clutch as well as the gas, that way you keep your RPM's up... *Edit: Nevermind, you already stated the clutch thing...
There is no perfect RPM to launch at, there are too many variables... Tires, Wheels, Mods, the surface of the Tarmac, Clutch, etc...

explain how you "race" your car. i thought you drive a car.
