Well it's been good and bad with the new car...

After really looking her over there are defintely some things I need to address/have addressed.

1. RR Trailing arm (thanks Len) was replaced along with Brembo blank rear rotors and a set of tires. I corded the 215's on the way down from NY, and corded another set of 215's within 2 weeks with local driving. The RR had a MAJOR camber/toe issue. Trailing arm was replaced because it was bent. 1k down, 9k more to spend...

2. Oil Consumption issue. If I drive ONLY around town, I burn maybe a quarter quart of oil per gas fill up. HOWEVER, with HWY driving, every 300 miles it's at least a quart (depending on speed I'm traveling) Plans??? Well... I'll be pulling the motor and boring her 25 over and put a set of JDM ITR pistons in, along with rings, all bearings, Mugen HG, oil pump and water pump (new T-belt but I will inspect that as well) Freshen her up and see how she goes. I really didn't want to spend that money just yet, but I'm over the oil consumption issue (I've probably burned literally 20 qts of oil since I've gotten her, including the drive down)

3. Front end. Whoever did the front end conversion didn't do the greatest job. I have "gaps" near the outside corners of the headlights. Being new to the JDM front end, I'm not sure if I'm missing brackets, or if when it was installed, the installer was just careless. Also, the passenger side headlight has the typical broken yellow surround on the city lights. Solution? Well, put some OEM HID headlights back in, and pull the front bumper and see what I'm working with.

4. Inner and outter tie rods. Not to much of a biggie there, but they need to be replaced as well.

Now the good...

I LOVE THE CAR!!!! The SRD's are the most comfortable seats I've sat in. I love em! The car still pulls pretty good (oil rings, not compression rings) but smokes when Vtec is engaged. Now that I have new tires, she's starting to handle pretty decent again. Also, I'm back in an R. If anything happens to either of them, I'll have parts ready to go, and the other can sit out for a bit.

Ok, enough of the rambling... ON TO THE PICS!!!

I was kinda in a hurry so sorry if they didn't come out great. I used to visit this area YEARS ago when I was still rocking the BMX bike. (powerlite FTMFW!!!)

Sadly, the car will not be with me at Expo. I really wanted her to be, but due to the oil consumption issue, she will not...

Dood, sweet pics.

Sorry about the oil problem: Glad you are going to hold of on bring it to expo, just take your time and rebuild it right, don't want to have a problem at VIR (Virginia) and bring it home not running.

(Like me at CMP ) I've learned not to rush projects!

:SWED:

(oh, update....new motor in the project r....will be at expo with it )

sorry to hear about the bad stuff on the new ride.. always seems like there's something to fix on a used car, even when you pick one up that appears to be in good shape.. i'm sure you'll get it straightened out!

Where were those pictures taken at Dave? It's the spitting image of Wilmington.

Nice car man, get those "bads" addressed, and it'll be a DAMN nice car.

Thanks.

Pics taken in Winter Park, FL It's a very nice area, very old and loads of $$$

Andy, I almost got that hood from D, it's supposedly still in a garage at UCF.

15.7k

BUT, I also got a TON of mods with it...

Mugen intake, spoiler, F/R strut tower bars, pedals and shift ****
JDM Front end
Black SRD's
3 sets of rims: Stock, C10's (pictured) and Spoon SW388's in 16x7
JDM clock block off
JDM CD holder thing
HID retrofit

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things...

When you took that picture would have been a good time for appraisers to come by and value that house because you definitely dragged it down a few grand

I'm glad she's starting to come together for you man. At least you know what you're doing and have a nice shop to work on heR!

Are you going to put any wing back on heR?

Luckily, that I do have.

Spoiler? Nah... for now she'll have nothing. I like the JDM front/spoilerless combo. Looks clean and blends in, which is what I want for now.
