i know this is a type-r page but ya'll have better answers than the other guys do. if i buy just the comptech ice box, no foam filter and no intake, so i fit it onto my stock intake tubing. then i buy the K&N filter for the LS and put it on. would that work. what kind of gains would i get?

you would unless you put some of that heat sheild wrap on the stock plastic tubing.
