Default fuel pump problem

me and my teammate recently installed worlbor 255 in my 91 dx. come to find out we need run a 14 gauge wire and a reley from the battery to the pump to supply the extra power and it work like charm. now 2 months lateri took the motor out to put a clutchin and to do some other stuff. a few days later i was putting every thing back togetheri accdently touched intakepiping on the(+)battery and the manifold. and yall know, big spark from the manifold.now when i unhook the wire from the battery the fuel pump won't prime. there are no blown fuses and the fuel pump realy seems to be working find, it click over. the only way the pump will prim is when i hook the wire back up to the battery. any ideals
