Yes it's fine. The stock shocks will work just fine with lowering springs. I can only suggest using quality lowering springs like H&R, Eibach or Neuspeed. These all carry lifetime warranty...

The trick to lowering you car and having a long lived suspension is reseting your bushings. This will relieve the twist in the rubber that occours when you change your ride height. If you dont' do this, you will be replacing all the rubber bushings in about 50k miles or less...

After you install the springs, just follow these instructions:
- put car up on 4 jack-stands
- pick a corner of the car & jack up one of the LCAs till the car lifts off the nearest jack-stand
- loosen all suspension bolts at that corner that go through the center of a rubber bushing
- now tighten & torque each bolt back to factory spec (you have a torque wrench right?)
- now remove the jack & move to the next corner of the car
- repeat at all 4 corners until your done
- go get an alignment...

yeah just use quality items!! then you will be fine, save up some cash for a full coil-over set up later on. i have KW variant-2's on my ek9 and tha wife is rocking omni-power full coil over street version on the eg hatch. soo sweet. the possibilities are endless.
