Alright.... Now that I solved the problem with the spark issue by buying a new distributor.... I finally installed it yesterday right? And got the car moving well.... There was no miss, no CEL, no nothing..... But I drive it for a while...
And all of a sudden... my foot is on the floor and it feels like the motor went from 160hp to about 70hp....... So I downshift to second, rip on it, and it feels so turdish that its unbelievable..... The H23A1 wouldn't even tach up at all... It went to about 5800rpm and just stayed there and I'm like WTF...
It revved hard with the old dizzy on and all... and I thought I had the timing on it good... there was no CEL at all when I had the new one in, and these things do throw CEL's when the timing is to far advanced, and the car would run like crap wouldn't it???
But anyways, I'm on the highway, and its just growing weaker and weaker..... I look over at the temp guage... its still at a normal level, but there's smoke billowing out the bottom of the car..... I quickly get off the nearest off ramp, and the temp guage starts to move over to the 3/4 marking and when I press the clutch, I hear tremendous knock.... I'm like, "oh ****, this thing's gonna blow", So i coast into the grass and shut the thing down.
Under the hood, there's coolant backing out of the radiator cap like mad.... None of the hoses are leaking anything though! I'm thinking it might be a blocked radiator (I hope), but it was just fine before the new dizzy was installed! Is it something I could've done with the new dizzy that could've cause this??? Let me know what you think ASAP....
Thanks,
Bryan

bad news... went in and replaced the busted radiator... threw in a thermostat too... but the motor didn't survive...
My H23A1 is toast.... I only had it for 6 days... But I guess its H22 swap time? I was gonna do eventually, and now I guess its started....
How hard is this going to be?? I figure that since the motor came in the car when it was in production, it shouldn't take any cutting or anything of that sort..... I do take it that I will need harnesses though and a multitude of other things too... God dammit...
