What would be a respectible offer for this CRX w/ SiR swap?
OK, I'm looking for a stout daily driven honda and I've found... a 19xx (don't remember) CRX (don't know what model, but it has no sunroof) with the old school WW kit, full energy suspension bushing kit, tokiko adjustable shocks, skunk2 coilovers, new front spindles, new axles with lifetime unlimited warranty, roughly 35k miles on civic sir engine and tranny (5 sp) with lsd (factory p&p), custom header back 2.5" exhaust, completely gutted interior with two original seats (no dash, cluster only), 5" cf autometer tach w/shiftlight (brand new still in box), zex kit (brand new, still in box), enough flip-flop paint to repaint the car, and 4 14" steel wheels (I'll be putting my 17" tantrums on it or a set of 14" del sol / 1994 LS wheels on it). Engine has not been modified, stock header, timing, etc... I know the owner of the car, and i think it's rarely ever driven. It hasn't been raced... yet... and hasn't had NOS through it... yet. Body is in great condition with practically no flaws, rear small piece of glass has been replaced with plexiglass, windows are tinted, etc... Overall, it's got the potential (with the paint job) to be a great looking car. So my big question is... what's it worth? What would be a decent offer to make without insulting the owner? Thanks a lot.

thanks... what does everyone else think? i'm pretty sure he paid about 3500 for it before the axles, new motor mounts, tach, and nos...
i'm ready for more opinions. thanks again

cr-tegra is on target. Someone will tell you that a friend of their's got basically the same set up for $2200. They will be full of **** though.
my friend got his setup for like 1800, with the NOS ZEX kit and Autometer tach, with stage 22 axles..
Okay enough bullshitting, haha, I had to say something outrageously stupid tonight before I fall asleep, haha. I would say 3500 give or take. you need interior though for daily driving, or i would..

thanks for the link and comments. i don't need anything more than two seats and working windows for my daily driver. i want this to be a fun car too. If I get it, the leather seats from my Integra will most likely be swapped in to make for a bit more comfort. thanks
flip flop and NAAAAAAWS? I wouldn't pay more than parts car prices for it, no joke.
EDIT: Oops, didn't see that the Nitrous wasn't on the car. If the flip flop isn't either, I guess I would pay about what everyone else is.

hehe, yeah, if the zex was already on it, if the paint was already on it, and if the tach was already on it... and if i didn't know the history of the car, then i wouldn't even look twice at it, but i know for a fact it hasn't been abused or even driven hard since the engine was put in.

My reply was a little sarcastic but serious as well. I would not pay more than $2500 for a CRX maybe stretch to $3000 for a really nice one.
That being said keep in mind that I have no interest in show cars with Bling Bling mods and Playstation 2's in them so I would never pay what some folks want for cars like that. I also feel that mods generally detract from the value of the car, so you have a CRX with coilovers and and a CAI for sale, that just tells me you probably ragged the car out. Swaps and Turbos are about the same, If I have not done the work myself I have to question the quality and reliability of the mods. If I were to find a ultra pristine CRX Si all original with 30k miles on it it would be worth more than $3K but I probably still would not pay it because I would be afraid to drive the car and beat the **** out of it.
Just my opinion.

I agree with most of what you said, but most of what you said isn't the case with this particular car. As I mentioned, I know the history of this car and it has never been raced. Swap was recently completed as was the suspension work. The guy that owns it has given up on finishing before even putting in the tach, nos, and vafc, etc... that being said, i'm making my offer of $4,200 cash in a few days. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Thanks

If I were the seller I would take what you are offering. Infact I would expect to pay less for the car. I'm sure you are aware of what you are buying though. I would aim for a little lower because its missing so much. I mean come on no dash? Some states don't consider that street legal. It's your cash, spend it wisely. Nothing like buying someone's project and realizing that it was just a mistake.
