Default RE010 Sucks on Water

I found out this week what it feels like to hydroplane, except I that was only going 20-30 mph! Have about 16K on my stock tires, they're used but not terrible. If I'd wanted to skid out of control, I'd just keep driving fast and corner. Just an observation.

I think they're just fine on wet roads when you've got a lot of tread on them. They're not great on wet roads when they're worn down though.

Come to think of it, all tires are like that...

I can't wait to put on my new S03s. I'd like to try those on water and see if they're any better. Should be according to reviews.

yeah - if you live in a wet climate or where it rains a lot - there are better tires.

Umm 16K miles on RE010s is a lot.
I removed mine with about 16K on them and they were very scary in the rain at that point.......time for new tires. I can't imagine you have more than a couple of 32nds of tread left. I know I didn't and I have seperate wheels and tires for Auto X and I don't drive like an *** on the street, so I would say mine wore about average.

They were OK when new, but $20 tires from sears should not hydro at 20-30mph.

Yeah, they're certainly ready to be replaced. I haven't driven them too crazy and with the naked eye, they don't look bad. I remember that RE010 were not good on wet, even with less mileage, say 9K or so. To me they're strickly dry tires... i wouldn't trust them on anything else.

yeah that's why they have a warning sticker that those tires have less than 10-15k wear life and that they are SUMMER-USE only tires...if you wana some tires taht handle better in wet conditions...try bridgestone potenza re 730 or kuhmo ecsta supra 712

Thanks. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one with that problem. My driving couldn't be that bad

That's the same thing that happened to me.. but with my GS-R... I was going less than 30 mph.. then out of no where... my car is messed up in a ditch.. I had to jump out like a F1 racer...

I think we all know that the RE010 suck on everything except for dry roads. Although it is fun to drive it in the snow to **** around.

I like my re010s a lot.
Never had any problems in the wet, although I drive careful when it rains.

Did spin the wheels the other day in 2nd gear though! It was bretty f'in fun. Wet, uphill. Vtec kicked in in second gear and the wheels stared spinning and the car pulled to the right. Sweeeet....
