New Alternator, new whistle/whine, what the...?
OK, my G/F has an '02 civic, and the regulator in the alternator was malfunctioning so it was overcharging the system and blowing fuses...anyway. Got a new alt. and installed it...now there is a slight whistle/whine. I searched in the archives and found similar problems, but not exactly the same (I don't think)...
...the whistle/whine goes up in pitch as the revs go up (I hope that makes sense). It's not loud, but it's noticeable if you listen (i.e., if you have the radio, heat/AC blower off, etc.). Also, my G/F said that she thought the headlights seemed brighter, as well as the gauge cluster. I dunno if she was just happy to have her car working again or if it really was brighter.
My question is, is this the alt belt? If so, is it too tight? and if so, any idea how tight it's supposed to be?

never mind I guess...the whine/whistle seems to have all but "disappeared". I mean, it is actually still there, but it is BARELY, barely noticeable.
But if anyone thinks this isn't normal at all, please let me know.
Thanks.
