My rear makes funny noises
Okay...I noticed this a while ago. If I lean on my car or push it while the e-brake is on, it creaks and groans. What's this from? Are my drums bad?
It also does it a little bit if I grab the driver's side rear wheel at the top and try to wiggle it. Little creaking noise. But it doesn't do it on the passenger side...or in the front. I know that if it wiggles in the front, that is bad - right?
TIA
Alex

Your rear makes noises? Whoah!! So does mine!! And that's about the time my wife kicks me out of whatever room we're in...
Oh wait, you meant your CAR!!! My mistake.

do you just hear it from the outside, or also from the inside, when your driving it?
it is hard to pinpoint noises, i had a squeaky noise, and i found out it was my rear cargo cover, at the point where it clips in, and i just put some electrical tape around the pegs that go in place, and it deadened the sound
i also put some electrical tape around my rear hatch latch hook thing, and took the metal spacer out, and those things help deaden the rear sounds, especially when hitting bumps, but now my goal is to get some new shocks/springs, cause mine are 150,000 old stock ones, and it makes noise on bumps worse.
was your car ever hit from behind?
is your rear sway bar tight enough? (if you have one)
your tires at the right pressure?
you have a rear strut tower bar, and is it tightened enough?
i can't think of anything else, sorry, i am no mechanic, just trying to get you thinking

nope, never hit from behind. the ebrake squeal can be heard inside the car as well as outside, only when you rock the car or push it when the ebrake is on. I don't know about all that stuff being tight...I put the drop on the car myself and put it all back together to specs. As for the ebrake noise, I guess it's just the rear drums going out, so I'll get them fixed when I put new rotors and lines up front.
Thanks for all the help, guys!!
