why does my motor sit sideways?
was up guys? my swap is almost complete and i'm trying to figure out why motor would sit sideways. it sits with the transmission side pulled further back towards the firewall. what in the hell could cause that? we are going to look into it today and see if we can find something out. by the way it's a b18a in a 91 civic hatch.
Never heard of them (az fabrication)... sorry dude, chances are that you got crappy mounts. HASport all the way, basically. Either that or custom weld job.
The other possibility is that the mounting brackets on your engine are bent slighty. Was the donor car in an accident? Mine was, and it wasn't that much of a problem, but I think that my drivers side mount was slightly bent. It was tough to get the engine in, but once we did, it was fine.
How to tell if you engine was in an accident? Check for chunks taken out of the metal, or broken glass in/on the engine. Stuff like that.
Anyway, my vote is bad mounts.

Get a bracket from a B16, the bracket that bolts to the mount on the drivers side. We did a B20 swap and we had the same problem using Assport mounts, we had a few problems with Hasport, the bolts they gave use to use were worthless and the rear mount needed filing in order to get any bolt in. So no, it might not be your mounts, it's that bracket by your timing belt, that your mounts hang onto.
take some pictures of your engine right now. I'm having a hard time understanding what the problem is..
but if it's the mounts, it's the mounts.

AZ mounts look identical to Hasport. Make sure you have a 90-93 Integra/88-91 SiR engine bracket on the timing belt side. to identify it, it should have one stud in it, whereas the 94+ Integra brackets have two studs in it. hth
when i first read the topic "BAD MOUNTS" came to my head. But yeah, definatly check the block mount like others are suggesting.
Do you have any other cars in the area w/ swaps you could look at? its much easier to tell whats wrong if you have somehting to go by.
