oil leak
How can I tell if my head gasket is bad because I have a bad oil leak. I change the valve cover gasket. So what could it be. And also there is oil on top of the tranny. Do anyone have any suggestions.

You might want to use a degreaser and blast off the engine to make it easier to find the leaks </TD></TR></TABLE>
You should always wash the engine off as best as you can and run it to see where fresh oil is coming from. Also, as for all leaks, work from the top down. you know its not the VC gasket, so distributor seal is next on the list. After that, I would look at the back of the engine at the oil filter housing and the block plug. then look at things like the oil pressure switch. Vtec solenoid if you have one, etc...

I have a 92 accord ex. I don't think its the dis o ring because the dis is new. I went under the car and cleaned the transmission and then oil came right back on it. And my car hesitate to in the morning. Could it possibly be a head gasket.
