88 crx si to zc wiring help.
ok my zc came out of a dx civic hatch, which means the wiring harness im using is from a dx and im trying to mate it up to my si. now heres where im confused. my harness on the motor has the six wire connection for the resistor box as pictured. and theres the 14 wire round connection there too, is that supposed to be there?? there is also a six wire connection coming off of the chassis next to the resistor box mounted on the chassis, what is that?? can someone please tell me whats going on here. would be great if someone spelled it out using paint on the picture. Thanks, Ryan
you need to put your Si engine harness on the engine and plug it in - if the engine is DOHC ZC, you will need to install the DX distributor connector onto the Si harness and extend the cylinder sensor wires (blue/green and blue/yellow) over to the cylinder sensor on the end of the exhaust camshaft
Yes, start by using your original Si harness. Not exactly sure, but the DX may have extra plugs for the DPFI system that you won't be using on the ZC. Maybe you could show us what came with the motor, I want to see if the distributor wiring was changed over correctly (like jlicrx said) so that you can at least avoid that.
so i need that round connection to hook up the 14 wire connection????cause my si wiring harness was sold with my other motor, i forgot all about it. i know the wiring for the sensor on the exhaust isnt done as the wires are hanging there. the car that this motor was in before had it wired directly to the ecu. what other things do i have to do for this to work??
