IS this safe for the ECU??

Default IS this safe for the ECU??

got a check engine (CEL) the other day and was wondering if i can check it buy using a paper clip or wire to check out the diagnostic so i can read the code...if you guys have done it before let me know what to and what not to do..thanks

Paper clip sounds funny... but should work, you could just jump a wire to connect the terminals.

We'll, I hope it's fine...it's the only thing that I've used to short the connector...I've heard of some people from Florida using a fork once...
