New to tuners
I just got involved in 4 cyclinder circle track racing and needed some pointers to get some more speed out of a stock 1988 Honda Accord 2dr LXI. The problem with getting more power out of this car is that it needs to appear to be stock. None of the more common mods that can be seen on the exterior of the engine can apply. This car also has to be naturally asperated ie no blowers or turbos. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance......
porting is a good idea, if you start whooping *** they'll tear down your engine if they are suspicious. However a stock rebuild should fit the rules and would be a good, non-cheating, improvement.
Basics like a tuneup and coolant change to take the added load sound like good ideas here.
Also gutted the cat might help? Can you do weight reduction?
