My brother just got his license and is looking to give his D series(y8) a little more power before he can afford his swap this winter....any one had experience with either cam in a sohc? and also another question..is a vafc controller worth buying for his car to?....thanks for the help

 

honestly not worth getting a cam, or a vafc controller, a cam with a stock engine will do little to nothing, and a vafc is just a silly waste.

if he wants more hp, get something that will work with the swap in the future, if he's staying d series, if not atleast get the exhaust, and weight reduction, fiberglass/kevlar seats, cf hood, light weight rims, etc

 

Waste of time if he's going to swap it out anyways.

The cam wouldn't do anything without valves/pistons/rods etc.

Maybe just get an ex/si intake. That should transfer over. Unless he's already got one.

I say just be patient and wait for the swap.
