Can you swap the Z6 head onto the d17a1...forgive me as i usually deal with b/k series. Just seems easier to turbo that way? TIA.

This has been asked quite a few times before, but considering it's near impossible to search "Z6", I'll skip that part.

You won't be able to swap any previous D-series head onto the D17. The construction is nearly 100% different than it's predecessors.

 

And just to elaborate on what matt said, No older model D parts will fit on the d17.

No intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, cams ect.

 

the head studs do.......i think. but that wouldnt make a difference would it.

Searching for Z6 is like searching for EK....it just don't work.

This much i knew, that is why i hoped i could swap heads, then all other parts are the gravy train. Oh well....guess he needs to save for some K
