i will be using s1 or y1 (both cable tranny). Now my question is will the cable transmission bolt right up to the b20. Since the motor is a 97+ it had a hydro transmission. Do i need to convert anything to make the cable transmission work w the motor???? thnks
What ECU are you running? If you use a cable B-series tranny with an OBD2 harness you are into a problem. OBD2 ECU needs to be fed with speed sensor of hydro tranny. Speed electrical impulses go to the ECU and the ECU feeds a dashboard. This means you cannot use mechanical speedo.
Solve this problem by buying Civic 96-00 speedo at junkyard. It has electrical system and works fine. The only problem is you get about 10-15km/h speedo reading errors above 110km/h
Cable tranny + OBD1 is the way to go..

It should all be back this week and be put in this weekend if I have enough time. I'll put some miles on her and then run her on street tires which I expect to be high 12's after seeing HXman's mild setup and knowing how light my car is in comparison.
We'll all see soon.
