Ok I've got a 91 HF CRX that had 120k on it and the front end had been hit hard but I spent some cash when I got it and had it straightend....after doing some work on the rear suspension (toe and camber mounts) tonight come to find out that the rear beam has been replaced also and incorrectly at that.

After much swearing and cussin considering all the work I've put into my swap and repainting and body work to get the body straight on it I think I'm done with this car.

I'll be stripping this thing and getting rid of the shell. So I need to find another CRX to put all this into. I get to start all over with the bodywork, paint etc. BLEH!

I wanna know if it were you what year, model would you go for?

I'm thinking a 90-91 si (a sunroof might be nice) but is there a better bodystyle or one more sought after? I know wheres there's a 88 shell with the seat belts not in the doors...dunno if these are a better car or if an si would be better.

Since you have a 91 already, I would get a 90-91 so that all the parts would transfer correctly.

 

i agree....90-91 si would be your best bet if your into the sunroof and other si ammenities.

 

i have a 90 crx si and a 91 crx dx.


i would kill for an 88 hf though.

 

88 shell with the pillar mounted seatbelts is a good deal lighter then a 90 or 91 si.

few hundred pounds to be exact.....

you really have to decide for yourself, however i will say if you get a DX you have more annoying wiring to tangle with to do swaps and whatnot since its all DPFI.

 

What ever car/shell I get will have my custom wire harness installed into it....I hardwired my H22 so I could use all the factory wiring that was on the motor...had to run a few extra wires and used some of the old wire harness...its nice and tucked away.....anyways

I was sorta wondering about the weight of the 88....that and I cant recall seeing very many crx's with the seatbelts not in the door.....when were they made the other way?
