whats your build?
mine was 140/hour
in the end it was 140 bucks cause he had another car close to my setup already saved, so he used the tune from that as the basemap didnt take long after that

I paid around $220 for dyno tuned with Chrome and a lot of extra work to get the car right
500 sounds ridiculous to me</TD></TR></TABLE>
The price include dyno cost, i highly doubt someone charge 220 and cover the dyno cost too

hey your know any good shop that could turn a d16a6 vtec fully build engine I live like 2 hours away In iowa I was in st paul last week for some parts. How much would i except to spend and looking for some good power. 300 to 400
i paid 180 and hour for 2 hours.. thats wit hondata. shops charge depending on wat u use too.. thats jus for the dyno time, hondata s200 w boost option = 400 plus p28=100 plus obd2 to obd1 = 80 bucks.
500 is sorta allot depending on the tune and the car. In most cases a shop should be able to have a pretty good tune on there in about 2hrs as long as you don't have anything crazy and you car runs properly. I think allot of places charge ~150 per hr for tuning. Most places will also NOT street tune.

The answer to that question is very vehicle specific.

most place charge between $125-$150 an hour or just a flat rate of $400-$500 to tune . i payed $150. an hour at balanced performance it took alittle over an hour on my all motor tune and 2 1/2 on my motor and nitrous. ed was the tuner
Flat Rate is good for the tuner when the car is in immaculate shape...but this also allows a flat rate tuner to do much more in the time alloted and do a much more thorough job of tuning.
The cost of a tuner comes down to a lot of things...the biggest in my mind is how easily they can overcome or fix issues the customer wasnt aware of without getting into added costs.
Hourly tuning can get expensive if the customer doesnt have a typical setup or one where the customer is a little misinformed about the combination of parts that they put together. Generally when you have to guess at things because the customer cant give you all of the answers...it takes quite a bit longer to dial everything in.
