1. Go for a drive any where, make sure engines hot

3. Buy a spray can of gunk engine cleaner.
4. Cover most of the electronic components, battery, dizzy , fuse , alternator with bags so you dont damage it
5. Spray gunk all over your bay and let the cleaner set for 10 min
6. Hose off
7. Dry any left over water with a towel
8. Enjoy you hard work
Extra step... Use a wirebrush to clean your tranny and other crap

Thanks for the write up, I've been meaning to do this lately.
I'd probably change the description of Step 4 though... I could really picture someone reading that, and thinking it means to cover those components in the cleaner, not to protect them from it, haha.

This is how all my cars engine bays look. If I had a dollar for every can of Gunk I've sued since I was about 14, I'd be rich!
I've gotten best results with a pressure washer & never really had to cover anything under the hood.
Great job on a squeaky clean motor! BLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you saved every dollar that you spent on a can of Gunk since you were 14 youd be rich. Hahahahaa.

Just wrap plastic around what you want covered. How is a towel going to stop anything from getting wet? You kidding me?

I've never once, ever, heard of washing the engine while its hot. You risk cracking the block or any other peice that is at temperature and then rapidly cooled.
