What is the best place to put the shock sensor?
Many have tried to place them high on the steering column, this yeilds good sensitivity in the front, too much near the front tires but not enough in the back, I'm currently trying to relocate mine to the center console location to get a more balanced setup.
Wherever you choose Just make sure it's making a solid contact with the car surface so vibrations that travel through the car (from a hit) will be "felt"

put it as close to the center/center line of the car as possible.. like in/under the center console, by the ebrake or shifter and make sure its mounted well.. not w/ velcro or zip ties... a lot of people put it on the steering column.. but then it will be very sensitive in front and not so much in the rear.. uneven sensitivity.. plus it makes the front tires really sensitive when people kick them.. or theres a big truck passing by.. so put it as close to the centerline as possible and mount it well/screw it down..
So would you mount it to a plastic part or a metal part, cause right now mine is on a plastic part on my dash board and it only goes off when you hit it really hard.
