Different Integra Engines
Okay so im soon thinking about getting an integra and id be getting a 94-97ish depends on the price. But defintly the newer body style. And theres many different engines. What do you guys think is an engine i should try and go for. I want something with quite a bit of power but something good on gas.
well 98-01 is the newer body style, but you can always do a conversion.
well, if speed and reliability is what your looking for....GSR is the way to go

I don't have a whole lot of money to play around with. So what i buy i want it to have what i want. From before i was lookin into the gsr and i thought for what i want would be the best but i wanted opinions. Does anyone know how many mpg about it averages?

98-01 GSR would probably be your best option for you seeing as you are looking for a new body style integra and the GSR engine is a fun engine to have with a little bit of kick to it. Also what kind of money are you playing with here?
You will definetly be able to get a very clean integra for that amount of money. To restate my above thread the GSR is probably going to be your best option for a nice looking car and a quick one because of its engine. It comes with 28 more hp(not to the wheels) than the ls,rs,gs if I am remembering right. LS-142 GSR 170 and they are about equal in torque.

Yes, get the GS-R; you'll be happy you did.

Okay ive got my mind made up on a gsr now. Are they hard to find with non power windows and non power stuff. And one more offtopic questoin. Is it expensive to fill in spoiler holes and repaint the back hatch cause id rather one without a spoiler. Thanks everyone
Just make sure to a great security system and a clutch lock, especially if you don't have a garage that can be locked!!!

All GS-Rs come with power everything.
You can take off the spoiler and cut the wire to the rear spoiler light, then fill in the holes with rubber "cork lids" that you get at Home Depot.
I think 3" would be too much; I'd go 2" probably.

To not mess up gear ratios when putting aftermarket rims/tires what is ideal rim size to go with and low profiles.</TD></TR></TABLE>
That is easy, you simply stay within the OEM diameter of the tire that is on there now. Any tire shop can help you with this. Or you can install a 16" wheel with 215/45 tire or a 17" wheel with a 205/40 tire.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the GS-R takes premium petrol grade only. Runnning anything less than premium will cause performance problems and put the knock sensor on over time. Not good for the motor.

Also, lowering your car on springs only is simply setting yourself up in the near future for costly repairs. The OEM struts cannot take the shortened and adjusted rod stroke in the shock body. The dampening is also all wrong. Look into Koni Yellows with some GC springs. Also, look into camber kits as 2" will dramatically change the camber and make the tires wear super fast.
I've been searching around on ebay and found alot of stuff for pretty cheap. Like form ebay stores peoople that sell loads of car mod parts and such. Thoughts on buying stuff like struts, lowering springs, camber kits and full exhaust off ebay?
Save up and buy a full coilover set. They're really nice and have a lot of research into the dampening. Don't go super cheap, you'll just end up replacing your suspension sooner because something went wrong. You can skimp on other parts such as intake piping, but suspension is what you drive on, and it takes the most road wear. Make sure you buy good parts.
Suggestions:
Tien Type Basic
Omnipower
are some cheap suggestions for GOOD coilovers that give adjustable ride height and are really durable. I've had Omnipower coilovers on my car for 3 years and they're still holding up and not sagging, although I check them often because of a prior recall.

Yeah, try to stay away from ebay in general. There are some things you can buy on there and be alright with, but for the most part try not to. I can't reccomend the tokico blues either. I've had them on my car for 2 years now and they are complete garbage. They are barely any stiffer than stock and I've seen hardly any performance gains out of them. Basically just save your money, do some research, and pick the suspension that fits your goals best.
As far as which model Integra to buy, definatley go with the gsr. You can get a nice gsr for $9,000.
