A positive 2003 Expo thread..
So has Mike comfirmed that he is going to organize the 2003 expo? Post some info here if you have it. I might help out depending on which track is decided on.
I like the idea of an east and west coast event. Just make sure they are not on the same date (try and space them a month apart) so some people can hit both of them

I would like to see:
-Summit Point for ITR Expo...
-VIR full for a Honda/Acura Expo...
I have told Mike that I would help in any way needed.
Someone (me?) will need to contact Jon F. and see what his views are.

They are interested in helping any way they can. Will shoot me an IM when you get a chance.
Mike, you should get in touch w/ Jon Felton. He's put on some great events, and should be more than willing to do this one.
I can IM his number to you if you like. He'll be able to find instructors and workers, etc.

An east coast and a west coast separate meet is a great idea. Switching off every year is kinda lame. I'm looking forward to helping in any way that I can. Even if it's providing King Cobra Double Malt 40s to Mike to clear his head.
Locked because the jackasses are posting in it now
For those who didn't take part in EXPO 02 (either participating or help setting it up) but think that you could have done it better:

For those who are stepping up for the EXPO 03, good work. Please learn from the last 2 EXPOs and try to make this one a perfect one. Again, keep "safety" in mind as some of the tracks mentioned might not have a lot of run-off areas.

I belive Ken's part as Mike recalled it was to strong arm everyone into Gingerman and CGI and then leave the footwork and bad news delivery to Wes . . .
Then Ken said we could use CGI because it would be easier to get track dates (and we did get one on memorial holiday). Once Wes and CGI got hooked up, Ken did annouce that he would be out of the picture. He would let the organizers to deal with the details. As much as I have already expressed my appreciation to Wes to make the EXPO 02 happened, I still think that the issues of insurance and on-site EMT should have taken into account when planning the budget initially. I blamed it on the miscommunication and inexperience. Not Wes (or Ken) personally, and hope the next organizers can learn from it.
Ken's opinion on certain participants' behavior is his opinion. And I'm not going to comment on that. But please don't mix that with how the event was setup and put all the blame on him.
Remember, I was VERY UPSET with the little dramas too. But did I pick out a particular individiual to blame on? Or call any particular individiual a jackass? Please people.

Hmmmmm I like getting screwed on both coasts = drive ~ 1100 miles either direction, but never in the midwest (how Gingerman is considered midwest, I have NO idea
)...

I don't really want this thread to get on the subject of Ken, Phil sucks, Ken's outright lies, CGI sucks, or the ITR EXPO 2002. Let's look forward to ITR Expo 2003 and just not make the same mistakes this time in trusting the wrong people to run the event. (edit: This is not directed at Wes and crew!!!!!!!)
