Front sway bar mount
I searched, couldnt find anything. I even looked all through the service manual for about 45 minutes. I have 2 questions. First one, what is the name of the bar that the front sway bar attaches to? Its the bar that runs across the car, and there are 2 brackets bolted to it, that hold the sway bar up. Second, is that bar replaceable?
We had my car jacked up yesterday, because apparently that bar has a hole in it and its causing the car to fail safety. It does have a hole in it, and its all rusty right above where the sway bar mounts on the passenger side. Couldnt get far enough under the car to see how to take it out though. If its not replaceable, we're just going to weld it up, but where the rust hole is, i dont think there is much solid metal to weld a plate to, and i dont think it would do much for the structural integrity, it would basically just cover the hole.
The guy who sold me the car told me it was the rear crossmember, but i dont think thats the name for it.
If it is better to weld it though, thats no problem, we're going to bust the welder out on saturday to fix a hole in the floorpan anyway. But if its better to replace it (if its even possible) ill do that, just need to know the name so i can call around to the junkyards (No pick and pulls around here anymore
)

So could i weld it?
Also im going to guess this part is the same between a civic and a crx? I have an 88 crx, should have mentioned.

it's one of the main components lending support to the structure of the car. personally i would replace it, depends on how much you trust your welding skills. i've seen people with severely hacked up front crossmembers get by for a surprisingly long time.
it will interchange with any 88-91 civic or crx
