I would say look on ebay for a good used one. You should be able to get one for around 100. Not worth wasting your money on a cheap gun.

i had a hard time finding a compressor/gun combo. but i think i finally found one.

i know a lot of ppl hate harbor freights around here but they sell two guns that shoot pretty damn well for the price.

one is the 43430. this gun varies from 9-14 cfm. so ideally you would need a compressor that is capable of hitting the 15 cfm at 40psi. it's a HVLP gun and there will be lots of overspray in the air so you would need to get good ventilationa and a good respirator. it's a good gun but the compressor would have to be powerful and at least 60 gallons. frequently on sale for 39.99

the other one is

the 90977. this gun is pefect for the people with small compressors. 5hp 25 gallons. from what i remember the gun only ask for around 7cfm at 40 psi. very forgiving for the small compressors. if you were to shoot the whole car the compressor will probally come on about once or twice for half a minute. not often does this gun go on sale and can be only bought online from their website. 69.99

these guns aren't the best, or even close. but for the DIY minded people that want to try painting their cars, these guns are pefect.

warning... the 90977 only comes in a 1.4 tip... so you would have to get another gun with a 1.8 or 2.0 tip to spray the primer.

there aren't any other tips for the 90977 but the 43430 has a 1.8 tip for around 30 bucks.

do a search for these guns on google and you will find some forums that show the outcome. search for "hf 43430" "hf purple gun" "hf 90977"
