Default Thinking about getting an S2, Worried about theives

Hi,
I just got my 95 GS-R stolen down here in San Diego and have a good deal on an S2000. Im really worried about getting this one stolen also and this is what is preventing me to finalize my decision. Thought others on this sight would share with their experiences and opinions. The main problem is that I have no garage to keep the car and must park on the street over night, this is what really worries me. What do others think?

Thanx,
Julian

i'm considering selling my car because my parking situation isnt going to be great either.

i used to live in san diego and i had all my **** jacked too - my motorcycle, my car stereo, my roommates car broken into and all his cds stolen - eventually rebroken into and his whole car stolen...

to me, SD is a bad place to have nice possesions.. i'm not racist, but with Tijuana that close... mexican thieves dominate the area

Though I don't live on the west coast, I'd be very, very nervous leaving my S on the street over night. My $0.02.

It's harder to steal an S2 unless they tow it with a flatbed.
Since it's also chipped.
Just make sure all your car is fully covered.

$61.00 and his h-t/s2ki handle is "Kodokan".

Really leaning towards no on the S2. Maybe now is not the time, a garage is probably the best theft deterent and until I get one I realistically should not buy a eye catcher.

Thanx for your input HT,
Julian

I would just hold out till you get garage parking or atleast gated parking.. good luck with your situation though!

The insurance would be full coverage just like it was on the GS-R, but that will not protect me from the inconvience of getting my vehicle stolen. Removable wheels kill switches and no bat. will not stop a theif from towing, as others have experienced in this area.

I think Homer is right, waiting it out will be the best insurance I can get.
