I think I did more harm than good
So I read a thread on here about using a wire from an alarm system that has a negative output when the system is armed and you can hook it up to the fuel pump wire and it will act as a kill switch when you have the alarm armed. So I went out to try this and it worked. Sort of.
I armed it after I hooked it up to the yellow/green wire in the passenger side kick panel. and I got nothing. Exactly as if the negative end of the battery was unplugged. Absolutely nothing. After disarming it and starting the car I now get a rough idle. Is it possible that I could have fried my fuel pump? Or damaged it? Or the relay? Or what else could it be that is now giving me a rough idle. By the way its on my 98 EX

If you cut the wire, chances are you didnt hook it back up correctly and you arent getting a good connection -OR- your idle needs to be raised up a bit., if its too low it will of course be rough. It woudlnt hurt to check the fuses as well. Are you getting any Check engine lights?
no i didn't make the wire longer, all i did was use one of the wire taps to add the wire into it.
no i didn't cut the wire either. I checked my fuses and they're all fine. I've never had this problem until earlier today. Oh and when i'm driving it rides fine nothing is wrong with the acceleration or when i rev it sitting in neutral. How do i change the idle? Oh and no CEL's.

Revving it? Explain what symptons is having when you rev it. As for raising your idle, on the top of your throttle body, facing toward the intake, its close to your MAP sensor, theres a screw that fine tunes your Idle up or down, depedning on which way you turn it (requires a screwdriver) . Sometimes ( for reasons unknown to me) when you mess with your engine, coincidentally idles change, this has happend to me a few times, and it can be solved by simply adjusting it back up.
hm ok I'll have to look into that tomorrow.
the only symptoms i have are when i first start the car and when it idles. everything else is normal. When i first start it is starts and then sounds like it will die again but maintains a rough idle. What i mean by rough idle is that the RPM's seem to be really shaky and low, like about to stall and the car shakes slightly.

Problem solved. I had left one of the plugs on the ECU unplugged, but it was sitting in the slot so I overlooked it and didn't check to make sure it was plugged it. But we're good to hook now. Thanks bro
