Default S2000 SRS Steering Wheel in 92-95 EG/EJ

I once asked about this before, and got all kinds of differing responses. Well I'm here to tell you that I did get an S2000 steering wheel into my 1995 Civic EJ1 coupe. Here is a teaser.

I will not give any details at this time, as I will later write a full article with pics and post it here. I am also working out a few bugs and am not complete. I did connect the horn and cruise control.

The $64,000 question is with the airbag. I'm afraid to hook it up and have it malfunction or deploy on me. I know that people put different OEM Honda steering wheels in thier Hondas. Perfect example is the JDM Momo SRS wheel in thier EK or DC. I also know that people put S2000 wheels in thier 96-00 EK. What I never hear is whether those guys ever hook up the airbag?

I would think that you might have some deployment problems, as the chassis is for first-gen airbags, and the airbag you installed is likely a dual-stage airbag. Unfortunately I don't know enough about the airbag systems to even speculate about what'll happen, but I would think the two different systems would have trouble talking to each other.

Also, an EK steering column doesn't just bolt right up!!! I used an EK column that I had to seriously modify. I will give the pics and details later when I am done.

Look at the back of the airbag. Does it have one explosive and one plug?

If so, then you should be fine.

That's sick dude, congrats! But why not just go with an ITR SRS wheel?

Because I want to be different. I also want to retain cruise control.
