--- Question about the interior door panels on a 2000 civic si ---
its just upholstered on.
for that matter you could get it reupholstered in any color/material etc if you wanted.. or just buy the entire door panel off that si and sell yours if you want to stick with the original

Sorry, I meant the plastic underneath the cloth material is cracking.
I wanted to know if the plastic itself (underneath the upholstery) can be chaged solely, or if it directly connected to the door panel.

If I understand correctly what you're saying, then Yes, the whole door panel can be taken off, and replaced with another one. I've had to take off both sides various times in the past due to when people slam my doors shut, with the window all the way lowered, it can makes your window pop out of the alignment track, so it get stuck when you try to raise it again. Thus I'd have to remove the whole door panel to get to the area where you can readjust/fit in the window in to the track.
Just grab the bottom edges, and sides and try to yank it off firmly, AFTER you have removed the screws in the door handel thingy, and armrest area. The whole area where the window sill is acts like a hook onto the door so make sure to not try to yank off the top area, just the bottom area, kind of like a giant flap if you think of it.
Hope that helps.

Woops, I re read your post again. No, I don't think the arm rest themselves can be removed seperatley, they are part of the door panel from what I've seen.
