Default Auto tranny buildu??

Ok i have a 2004 civic ex 4dr automatic and was wondering what i could do to the tranny to beef it up a bit before i mess it up or abuse it too much.

I wouldn't waste your time. My guess is your automatic won't handle much more than 175WHP stock.

Until you reach those numbers just keep it as is. You can always do an oil cooling line to the transmission, but otherwise just get a manual.

Honda d series tranny's are notoriously weak. I would NOT waste my time and money trying to build something that is NOT meant to hold power.

U are better off learning how to drive standard, not to mention any power u have from a d17 will still ultimately be hindered by the crappyness of the auto tranny.

I was just wondering since i have a handful of mods done already and a manual swap would be too much time and money so i was thinking maybe a torque converter would be good but guess not. Thanx for the feedback.

its all about personal preference. i personally am not swapping my tranny for a manual and am planning on boosting my d17 AUTO. its going to be way easier in the DC/VA/MD area where traffic blows. Plus, in another couple of years, the s2000 will be the weekend car so...
