But do any of you guys wonder why Type R's get stolen all the time? If this discussion had been brought up before sorry.

Here's my theory. If you agree with it cool, if not fine.

1. Posting up pics of your car everywhere
2.listing mods of every damn thing you have on your sig.

I just feel that these factors contribute a lot to ITR thefts especially among H-T members. Now then again I may be totally off. These cars may just get stolen because the fact it's an ITR but im sure the points I brought up may have something to do with it. Remember people this is the internet, not some secret board where only members can view. I'm sure theives just cruise the board to pick out their next victim. I'm just tired of hearing off all the damn thefts.

i do agree, listing all of your modifications in your sig is stupid, posting pictures also isn't very smart, but I do it, so I can't complain.

That can be a good reason. However, that's not the case from people like me who's ITR have been ALMOST stolen. I am one of the fortunate people. I don't recall posting any pics of my ITR or listing any mods. So the only way the theives would've known is by somehow tracking my IP or they just knew where my car was.

You might be right, but I still don't think it's a big factor. Everyone on this board knows exactly what my car looked like, everything that is or has ever been in it, and they knew where the car would be and when (if you looked at the AZ race schedules). Ask around enough in AZ and someone is bound to tell you where I live. And in two years, nobody ever touched it. I attribute it's safety to security measures I took at home.

And for those of you who think you're up for the challenge, you're too late. Car's gone (sold, not stolen ).

You have a valid point, but I really dont think this is the major issue here. When you have a car that is made up of tons of parts that can be transferred to an extremely popular and cheaper car like the integra ls/gs/gsr or civic, you're bound to get the vehicle stolen anyways regardless of the mods you have on it. Mods on an itr are just icing on the cake for car thieves.

1. I don't think this has anything to do w/ it...95% of people who would even consider stealing a car already know what an ITR is. They all look relatively the same

2. Who cares what mods we have? People want them all the same if they are stock too
These cars may just get stolen because the fact it's an ITR but im sure the points I brought up may have something to do with it.

One more thing is stay away from these Rice shows like Hot Import Night, Drag events or similar functions. I am not saying all thefts goes to these places but most of them do and find their next target!

I disagree to an extent that posting a list of your mods increases a potential thiefs desire for your car...I would assume A bone stock ITR is worth just as much as a modded ITR to a thief...

i think the reason why type R's are jacked so frequently is because all of its parts are in HIGH demand. From the motor to shift ****, people are willing to pay for the parts. another reason is because people post pics of their car without airbrushing their liscense plates. theifs can run these plate #s and find out all your info, then one day when you are out of town, BAM your car is stolen. thats why i dont go posting about all my mods to my..... uhhhh my '87 GMC conversion van
