I am planing on getting 16" or 17" wheels, not definite yet. I was running on 195/55/15 before (sTOCK) but since 2 years ago I 've been running 205/50/15. I love these. Now if I switch to 16" or 17" inches, What is the best tire size/width for those wheels( I don't want the tires to stick out on the side of my car). btw, My car will get a 1.25" drop all around too. So should I get 16 or 17 and what type/size tires? I want light wheels too cause my stock ones are like 15.+ lbs.

what is your car used for? what is more important to you? performace or asthetics?

 

GSXR: I used my car for both but mostly cruising and hanging out with friends.

 

my car, I would keep 15s.

but if you are dead set on going bigger, anything over 16 really doesn't look too good on tegs, depending on the style of wheel it is.

anyway, on to your first question, from http://www.tirerack.com ...

16" wheels --> 205/45-16
17" wheels --> 205/40-17

that is their calcs not mine, so don't blame me when your speedo is off

 

get 16s....17s look way too big on a teg imo. if you go with 16s go with 205/45/16 for tires (like samagon said).

 

You can also use 215/40R16's with the 16" wheels.
