about a month ago, my 2000 v6 coupe accord start having a whistling sound that can be heard inside the car, i went outside to get it check and the mechanic told me that it was the alternator making that sound, my question is that if the alternator was makin the sound then wouldn't i hear it from outside also? the other problem i was lookin at is that i saw a lot of people having EGR valve problem in this model so how much would it be to replace an EGR valve and how do u know if there is something wrong with it.

no sure about the whistling. But as far as the EGR goes, if your not throwing a code your fine for the moment, you will just need to have it cleaned if/when you do throw a code, but to get it replaced at a mom/pop shop would probably be around 200-300.

THe main concern in this modle is the trans tho, they suck...
