Default All Dash Lights and Speedometer Not Working

I have searched for a while now and could not find anything similar to the problem that i'm having. All the dash lights and speedometer do not work but every once in a while they will work just fine for a minute. I've checked all the fuses and all the grounds under the hood. One of my friends said there is a spot under the dash were a lot of stuff is grounded but I couldn't find it. I've also checked the dimmer switch and couldn't find anything wrong with that. I'm sure my vss is going out but I wouldn't think that it would not make my dash lights not work. The car is a 93 sedan.

THe ground under the dash for the cluster wiring is located on the right side of the guage cluster underneath.
It can be seen if you remove the clutch bezel, and some times if you just drop the steering well. It is a black wire, grounded to the metal under the cluster (but seen from floor up, it is on the underside of the metal)

Also, check the (+) wiring that goes up to the cluster.

Are the gauges actually not working (other than the VSS) or just the lights to them?

Hope this helps, I think you're looking for G501. The manual says the location is "below steering hanger."

I seen that ground and it's fine. Everything is working except the speedometer, cluster lights, and a/c control lights. The cluster lights for the brake, srs, check engine, ect... work but just the background lights don't.
