i have an LS in a crx and when i racing/ laying on it real hard my third gear grinds the very slightiest bit but i can tell it's there alittle. i just started driving stick again so could it just be my shitty shifting or is from every time i shift it raceing it spins tires? any comments feel free!!!

 

try some synchromesh. if that doesnt help, replace synchro.

 

try some shifting slower. if that doesnt help, replace driver.

 

what is syromesh? if i shift slow into third i anm fine. but when i race i slightly gring third....... if i keep practicing it and i finally get it i won't hurt my tran will i unless i really really grind it.

 

It was doing that on my sisters boyfriends car in second so we replaced second gear and reverse because it was on the same shaft, third gear and the syncros on second and third. and that took care of the problem. no more grinding!!

 

Get some Pennzoil tranny syncromesh oil , 2 quarts. Only sold at Autozone as far as I've seen.

We did it our selves and it cost us 150 bones, you need a press and alot of patients,bring it to a shop out of the car i think its like 600 or less other wise just build the hell out fo that tranny thats something not very many people do, i plan on getting an S1 close ratio for my HB
