Default Failed Emissions even with a brand new cat?

I have been to emissions twice and failed. I failed carbon monoxide very badly.

My results are:

Hydrocarbons(HC)grams/miles

mine = 3.40
limit is = 1.00

Carbon Monoxide (CO) grams/miles

mine = 98.71
limit = 12.00

Oxides of Nitrgoen (nox)

mine = 00.23
limit = 2.50

The thing is, my car runs great, gets good mileage and never has any problems. It seems to be running very rich.

Can anyone help me out?

My setup is:

1992 hatch with 2001 JDM B20 w/ gsr tranny.
New magnaflow cat
megan 4-1, 2.5 inch header
Neptune
P75 LS ecu

has your car been tuned with a wideband to measure a/f? Have you tried stock ecu/base maps? by replacing the cat, you know its not the cat. If a brand new cat still fails its your engine.

post your report my man, your numbers ain't helping us **** for trying to solve it.

If you know how to lean your fuel, do it. youre prolly runnig too rich. Magnaflow won't help much cause I'm assumein gyou bought a high flow 2.5 in and out flow one right? I think your ecu ***** ***** up.

Run the car to warn because do a smog, buy seafoam and dump it into your tank 1/2, 1/2 into break booster, do a search about seafoam for instruction on how to use.

Your spark plug prolly old and rusty that can barely fire some sparks to burn those extra rich fuel, about the timing i'm not too sure but for me I retarded all the way.

OIL change...etc good luck

I'll post the whole report asap, I gotta get the paper from my car.

We did a compression test and a valve adjustment and everything was fine, had good compression and valves weren't out of whack. Spark Plugs looked brand new.

i dont know about california but im a state inspector in texas. we use ppm for the analysis not grams per mile. but your hydrocarbons are up too high thats unburned fuel. high flow cat is no good for emissions do you have any check engine lights?? your setup could probly use a wideband and someone who knows how to tune.

check for weak spark or an injector stuck open or a computer problem possibly. mine had an o2 sensor that was wired to the ecu wrong my hCs were like1200 ppm

That's the second time I've heard that hi-flow cats are no good. What's the point of them then? All a cat does it clean the exhaust gas SO YOU CAN PASS EMISSIONS, and it doesn't even do that, lol

All a cat does it lower emissions...that doesn't mean it will get it low enough to pass emissions. It'll just be lower than what was coming into it - ta daaa. Pretty neat trick but they're not miracal workers. Stock converters run several hundred dollars...for a reason. It's because THEY clean the exhaust SO YOU CAN PASS EMISSIONS. The next issue is, you can't give a converter pure **** and expect it to take care of it. Those results you've got compared to a stock Honda BEFORE the converter has a chance to clean it, don't even look that bad.

You slid past these questions:

i would move to a non inspection state like me im in florida no inspections unless you get pulled over and the officer set you up with a court date and you have to go threw and inspection.or have someone make you a sticker or go to a local shop and have them throw another car up and get you a sticker like we used to do when i was in jersey.
